GE Lighting Photometric Resources

Connect calculation files with the assumptions that make them useful: luminaire configuration, output package, optical distribution, mounting geometry and control state.

Resource principle

A file is useful when its configuration is understood

Photometric data supports comparison, calculation and documentation, but the filename alone does not establish suitability. Project teams should verify that the tested luminaire, lumen package, CCT, optic and driver correspond to the scheduled configuration. This center organizes the questions that belong beside an IES or LDT download.

“Traceable assumptions turn a photometric model into a specification tool.”

Use distribution plots to understand intensity direction, calculation output to study illuminance and uniformity, and product documentation to confirm electrical, dimensional and environmental constraints. For renovation work, record ceiling conditions and control interfaces before treating a nominal replacement as equivalent.

Resource sets for the project workflow

IES and LDT photometry

Match the file to the exact product family, optical code and lumen package. Review candela distribution and spacing implications instead of comparing fixture wattage alone.

Application calculation inputs

Document room geometry, reflectance, workplane, maintenance assumptions and obstruction conditions so calculation results remain interpretable during design review.

Color and visual-comfort context

Consider CCT, CRI, available TM-30 data, shielding and viewing angle alongside target illuminance. UGR is application and geometry dependent, not a universal fixture label.

Controls and electrical coordination

Verify driver protocol, dimming range, emergency interaction, sensor topology, surge requirements and commissioning ownership for the scheduled version.

Polar candela distribution review

Distribution evidence

Compare beam shape, cutoff and intensity where the application needs them.

Commercial lighting BIM coordination

Coordination resources

Keep dimensions, mounting and electrical interfaces connected to the model.

Installed office lighting verification

Field verification

Compare the commissioned space with the documented design assumptions.
